Course Description/Objectives:
Lecture and practical discussion on balance and gait.

Course Objectives:

  1. Become familiar with the systems theory of postural control and how it can be used to guide practice
  2. Describe screening and assessment tools appropriate for use with adults with impairments in balance and gait.
  3. Design individually tailored balance and gait programs based on impairments identified.
  4. Discuss the research evidence supporting different intervention strategies.
